Artist's Statement & Bio
Our diverse natural environment inspires Lynn's artwork. It provides the drive for her to experiment with color, texture, composition, and medium as she translates our world and her excitement into art.
Lynn's artistic journey has been evolving since receiving her Bachelor of Architecture from Miami University and is influenced from designers such as Frank Lloyd Wright and Mies van der Roe. This architectural foundation and structural analysis enlivens her work as she explores perspective, texture, and color in her interpretations of nature. Lynn does not limit herself to conventional uses or displays of photography. By fusing images on a variety of natural fabrics and materials (e.g., canvas, silk, satin, wood, and linen) she implies a greater depth and nuance to familiar forms.
As Lynn continued to stretch the boundaries of photographic media, she began to integrate oil paints into her artistic expressions to explore the deeper context of her images and how they relate to our perception of nature. By approaching the mystique of the untamed through structure and design, she creates contrasting images with complexity, equilibrium and a splash of excitement. Lynn has found that the use of oil paints has allowed her to fuse fantasy with realism in her art.
Lynn currently resides in Colorado. Whether it is hiking, skiing, fishing or collecting minerals, she will always have a sketch pad and camera with her. For further information, Lynn can be reached at email@example.com. A gallery of works can be viewed at www.PavelkaArt.com.
