Biography & Artist's Statements

We started our group in Sept. 1986, with a handfull of ladies. We now have over 230 members. We are celebrating our 25th year anniversary in 2011 We come together to perpetuate the rich heritage of quilting in America. Our purpose is to promote the art and perfection of the craft of quilting. We meet to share our quilts and other items, hear speakers and conduct workshops.
Every February to have our Rendezous. It started  because we had "cabin fever" and needed to get together and sew. It is one of our fundraisers that we have each year. We also sew Christmas stockings for the foster children in our community. Sunset Slope Quilters have sewn and given out over 400 quilts in the past three years as one of our community affairs project.  Anyone is welcome to join us on the 2nd Wednesday of the month at the American Luthern Church on 261/2 Rd. 9a.m. is the meeting time.
