Maggie's Way Lucinda Stein, author Three Threads Woven

Biography & Artist's Statements

Born in Minneapolis, Lucinda Stein has lived in South Dakota, Wyoming, and Colorado. Her recent novel, Three Threads Woven, was a 2010 WILLA finalist. The contemporary novel deals with a protagonist of mixed Native American heritage. "Sanctuary," a short story, was published in 2010 in the South Dakota Review. Her first novel, Maggie's Way: The Story of a Defiant Pioneer Woman was published by Western Reflections Publishing in 2005. It is a historical novel set in the early mining days of Ouray, Colorado.

A retired school librarian, Stein has lived on the Western Slope of Colorado for twenty-one years. When not writing, she can be found hiking mountain trails or exploring red rock canyons.
