More Information

Colorado Mesa University is a major provider of arts and cultural activities in Mesa County and one of the main catalysts behind the success of the local cultural community.  In addition to the many cultural activities available to students and the public, the college offers outstanding classes and majors in arts, theatre, music, and dance, and has graduated many people who have gone on to be active in Grand Junction (and elsewhere) through community and professional theater, and the arts of all types.

The Theatre Department performs a season of plays and musicals each year.  In 2002-2003 the college remodeled and expanded what was the Walter Walker Fine Arts Complex into the Moss Performing Arts Center music and theater building, including a new 200-seat Recital Hall for concerts and a small "black box" Mesa Experimental Theater (the MET).  In 2009 the performing arts center was expanded again with a large new addition for the Dance Department.
