First dreamed of in 1986 and opened in 1997, the Western Colorado Botanical Gardens at 7th Street and the Riverside Parkway (where 7th Street meets Nature) includes a greenhouse, butterfly house, the Botanic Gift Shop, a collection of various gardens, the Pomrenke Children's Library and the Secret Garden.

The mission of the Gardens is to promote responsible conservation of precious natural resources in Western Colorado by providing educational and recreational opportunities for visitors of all ages, while offering an aesthetic setting for cultural and commuinity events.

The Greenhouse/Butterfly House & Botanica Gift Shop can be reached at 970-245-9030 and is open Tuesday - Sunday from 10AM - 4PM.
